I made a great swing and hit a pure shot, from start to finish. In mid-air, I said "That IS going in the hole!" And sure enough, my shot landed 6 inches from the pin, made an easy right turn and dove in the hole. Sweet! |

I had already parred the first 2 holes for wins so the H-I-1 put us 3up after 3 holes. The ball landed 1 foot short of the green, bounced 2 or 3 times and ran about 20 yards to the pin which it rested against for around 20 seconds before dropping to the bottom of the cup. The group in front realised before we did that it was a H-I-1 and raised their arms in celebration. It was also witnessed by the club captain who was marking our card. I went on to par the next for our 4th win off my 13 handicap and my 8 handicap partner Jim Crammon was beginning to wonder if any of HIS scores would feature on our card. We finished 10up and won the competition. The beaty is that part of the prize on presentation night at the end of the season is a plaque of our scorecard on the day and it will include my hole-in-one. |
